Boglin Marsh Racing Pigeon Fanciers Portal are proud to introduce and present one of the United Kingdom's most respected scribes and top-winning fanciers in his own right: Keith Mott.
Keith Mott – British Homing World Feature Writer & Boglin Marsh Associate.
Club: London & South East Classic Club.
Location: Surrey, England.
I have been a pigeon fancier for over 30 years and like mostly long-distance racing. I am a sufferer of pigeon fanciers' lung and house my team of racing pigeons in a small 'rabbit hutch' type of loft, where each pair of pigeons are kept in separate compartments. Having this type of loft means that I don't have to enter and keeps me free from 'pigeon bloom'.

I have a very large involvement with the sport, having my own regular pages with the British Homing World called 'On the Road' with Keith Mott, and I am Chief Convoyer with the London South East Classic Club. This takes me out to the Continent 6 times per year. The convoying job I enjoy very much, and the year 2000 will see me visiting Pau (550 miles) for the fourth year in succession. I enjoy filmmaking and have produced 18 highly successful racing pigeon videos called 'Many Miles with Mott', which feature all aspects of our 'Great Sport', including all the very best long-distance and sprint lofts in the United Kingdom. On the racing side, I like long-distance racing up to Pau (550 miles) and keep families of Mr/Mrs Cannon of Surrey, Tom Gilbertson of Carlisle and Brian Denney of Strensall.
Prior to pigeon fanciers' lung, I raced 12 pairs of pigeons on the natural system to a 15 feet x 6 feet Kidby loft with open-door trapping. My main family were the Deny Bros Grizzles, and I used to average 10 x 1st each season. These pigeons were great all-rounders, winning at both racing and in the show pen. Although I only kept a small team, they were quality, and I was the top prize winner many times. The Deny's Bros Grizzle family was bred down from a direct Grizzle hen, Belg72-4143522, named 'Little Mo', and she was the G/dam of Champion 'Kenny', probably the best Deny's Sprint Cock in Britain, winning 13 x 1st Club and 37 times in the first six, plus many other premier Federation positions. 'Pigeon of the Year' in Surbiton for three years in succession.

Winner of 'Pigeon of the Year' Trophy and 'Best Single Bird Points Cup' in the Surbiton Flying Club, 1983/84/85
This great cock was home to win many more first prizes but would sit out and was beaten by loft mates many times. 'Kenny' was retired to stock in 1986 and is the sire and G/sire of numerous winners. 'Kenny' has scored in the Show Pen many times after his retirement. He is a full brother to 'Warrior' and a half-brother to 'Double Top'. 'Kenny' was the winner of 13 x 1st and 37 prizes in the first 6, plus many premier federation positions. Possibly the best Deny's Bros. sprint cock to ever race in Great Britain.

'Double Top' won 3 x 1st plus numerous prizes in the first six when being beaten by loft mates. Suffice it to say without boring the viewer – the list of prizes is far too numerous for this space. 'Double Top' – a superb Deny's Bros. racing pigeon.

No photographs could do these pigeons justice!
